The initial project idea started as an artist development programme that emerged out of consultations and prior activities working with up and coming artists from disadvantaged backgrounds. The common issues identified were lack of resources, funds and access to professional networks and as a result proved to stunt growth and prevent opportunities. 

Getting established artists to support the project enhanced the profile of the project and the young people involved, adding high calibre material to their portfolios. The process, techniques, equipment and professional environments aided the young people in gaining industry standard experience and working with professionals gave them access to a wider professional network.

The scope of the project proved to be a lot bigger than anticipated creating opportunities for young people outside of music expanding across other creative art forms and non-creative areas.
